Privacy Notice for Megagon

This privacy notice describes how Megagon collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application and related services.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive and store the email address (or equivalent identifier) associated with your account. We use this to identify you and to link your check-ins and settings to your account.
• Check-in and safety data. We store your chosen check-in deadline (time of day), whether you have checked in for the day, and the last check-in time. We use this to determine if you have missed a check-in and to send alerts to your watchers when appropriate.
• Watchers and dependents. We store the email addresses you add as "watchers" (people who are notified if you miss a check-in) and "dependents" (people whose check-ins you watch). We use this to send missed-check-in notifications and to show you the status of people you watch.
• Device and push notifications. To send you alerts (e.g. when someone you watch misses a check-in), we store a push notification token for your device. We do not use this for marketing.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

• Provide the check-in and alert features of the app.
• Notify your watchers if you miss your daily check-in by your deadline.
• Notify you when a dependent misses their check-in.
• Send push notifications related to safety and check-in alerts only.
• Operate, secure, and improve our services.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising purposes or for purposes unrelated to the app's safety and check-in features.

3. Advertising

The app may display ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use data (such as device identifiers and usage data) in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. You can control ad personalization in your device settings or through Google's ad settings.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on our servers (and, where applicable, with our service providers, e.g. for hosting and push delivery). We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Sign-in is handled by Google and Apple according to their respective privacy policies.

5. Sharing of Information

• Watchers and dependents. Your watchers may receive notifications that include your email (or identifier) when you miss a check-in. When you watch a dependent, we may use their stored information to send you missed-check-in alerts. This sharing is limited to what is needed for the safety and check-in features.
• Service providers. We may use third-party services for hosting, push notifications, authentication, and advertising. These providers process data on our behalf under agreements that limit use to providing and securing our services.
• Legal. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of us or others.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing.

6. Your Choices and Rights

• You can stop using the app and request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
• You can turn off push notifications in your device settings; the app will still work, but you may not receive missed-check-in alerts.
• Depending on your location, you may have additional rights (e.g. access, correction, deletion, portability). To exercise them, contact us.

7. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Notice

We may update this privacy notice from time to time. We will post the updated notice at the same URL and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated notice.
